Post it Note *lightbulb*

May 21st, 2008 at 01:56 pm

I am going to tape a post it note to my debit card that says "I want to be debt free by 2010".

We'll see if this helps curb my misc. spending?

I love it!! That will be a good way to stay focused on your goal. Maybe you could put them other places too.

You may also want to go cash only in the areas where you tend to spend too much.

I go cash on my lunches. It really keeps me focused on not straying form the budget.

The thing about cash is that my credit union is in another state so I wind up getting hit w/ atm fees. One bank here charges $3 for withdrawals. I am in the process of trying to find a credit union here.

Seeing that little note will help keep your goal in mind. And the more it stays in your mind, the more likely you will be to accomplish it.

I think that is a smart idea! I will also use this in addition to my home calendar entry.

Good idea. I used to keep a rubber band around mine as a reminder.

I just never accepted a debit card. I deal in cash only!! clark Howard says it is a very bad idea to have a debit card.

Really? I rather have a debit card than a credit card.

I have recently had mine reissued. It is only for use at my bank or an emergency. They have their uses. I would prefer to use a credit card. If you use your debit card you can actually push the credit tab rather than the debit tab and you won't have to input your code.

I sometimes use my debit card as a credit although I'm not sure what the difference is since it's not reported to any bureaus.

People use their debit card as a credit card in order to not have to put in their security code where someone could get it. Some also earn points on the card.
